Life is a battle of many forms which we must be ready to fight to win. There will be many obstacles and distractions that will come your way but you must be prepared to fight for what you truly believe in.
1. When cornered use what you have
When stuck in a situation that requires you to fight, then use whatever it is that you have. What you have before you acquire anything else are words, people, and time. Your best weapon in life could be either of these three. You might wait for capital, miracles, saviors which may never come but the best you should do is use what you have. Don’t look to others or to anything else but always make sure your greatest weapon is the one that no one can take away from you, which is yourself.
2. Carry a joker
Just as any deck of cards has a joker so must you carry one. A secret weapon which you never advertise to anyone, it might not win you the war but when the time comes it must gain you ground or cause enough damage for you to be respected. There are many battles in life but always choose your weapons with care.
3. Surprise move that can win you a battle
Just as the chess board has a queen piece always have an unexpected powerful action. In life people will always work with assumptions, they will look at you and measure you according to what they see, but always be ready to do the unexpected, and when you do it, it must have the most impact. When the battle thinks it has you beaten a surprise move might bring doubt to the enemy and win you the war.
4. Fight in with more than one weapon
Whenever you fight, fight in twos. Don’t carry a sword only but carry a dagger, don’t carry a cross bow only but bring a sword, whatever it is you bring to the table always make sure you have a backup plan, a way out, another ticket reference, another line for communication, more than one bank account, more than one car, because you never know what the times will bring and what the fight will bring to you. Always remember a marriage takes two and not one.
5. Focus on the Prize
When you fight look at the prize you are fighting for, if you can’t see it then walk away from the battle until you can see it. A battle entered without a vision is like warrior fighting in the dark with no weapon, eventually that warrior will die. If you don’t know what you are fighting then don’t fight, if you can’t measure what you are fighting for then don’t step on to the battle field, if you can’t have what you are fighting for after you win the battle then don’t bother to fight for it. If your faith cannot see the substance then it is not faith, then your belief is doomed.
6. Know when the fight starts and when it ends
Every fight has its beginning and end if you don’t know where the beginning is or where the end is then it’s not a fight it’s a massacre, you will be massacred. Most massacres victims cannot see where the fight came from and why it came; they will die and never know when it will end. Stand up for what you believe in but if you don’t know where it starts or ends then don’t bother. Never believe in a fight whose beginning you don’t understand or whose end has no prize for you.
